How do I send an Interac e-Transfer?

To send an Interac e-Transfer, you will need Two-Factor Authentication enabled and need to know the email address or mobile phone number of the person you are sending the e-Transfer to.


1. Login to Online Banking

2. Go to the "Interac e-Transfer" menu and select "Send Money"

3. If you do not have a profile you will be prompted to set one up before proceeding

4. Enter the details of the transfer:

  • Select the account you want to transfer from
  • Select the recipient - if you need to add a recipient select the person icon to "Add Recipient" and enter their information
  • Select either text, email or both
  • Enter the transfer amount
  • Optionally, add a message to the recipient
  • Create a security question and answer - this will default to the security question and answer for this transaction only unless you select "Re-use security question and answer for recipient". You will not need a password if the recipient is registered for Autodeposit.

(Note: DO NOT put the answer to your security question in the "Message")

5. Click submit

6. Review the transaction to confirm details are correct and click "Confirm"

7. You will see a "Transaction Complete" page


The limits for sending Interac e-Transfers are:

  • $3,000 per transaction
  • $3,000 per day
  • $10,000 per week (past 7 days)
  • $20,000 per month (past 30 days)

  • Select either text, email or both
  • Enter the transfer amount
  • Create a password - this will default to the password for this transaction only unless you select "Re-use security question and answer for recipient"

(Note: DO NOT put the answer to your security question in the "Message")

5. Click submit

7. You will see a "Transaction Complete" page
