Two-Factor Authentication

Add an additional layer of security to your account

Make your Online Banking more secure.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps protect your account from fraud and unauthorized use by adding an extra layer of security when logging in to Cambrian Online Banking and Cambrian Mobile Banking.

How It Works
With 2FA, in addition to entering your password to login, you will also need to enter a verification code sent to you via text or email.

You can enable “Always On” Two-Factor Authentication to send a verification code at every login. If not, a verification code will only be sent in certain instances such as when logging in from a new device or a new location or when completing certain transactions like sending an Interac e-Transfer®.

Important change

Effective November 8, Cambrian members will need to have Two-Factor Authentication on their accounts to receive and send Interac e-Transfer®. For more details on Cambrian's new Online Banking experience click here.

Set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Set up 2FA using Cambrian Online Banking

  1. Login to Online Banking
  2. Select your name in the top right menu and click"Profile & Settings"
  3. Under "Security Settings" click"Two-Factor Authentication"
  4. On the activation page, enter your email address, mobile phone number or both
  5. Click “Get Code” to have your contact information verified
  6. Enter the code you received by email or text
  7. Click “Activate Two-Factor Authentication”

Set up 2FA using Mobile App

  1. Login to the Cambrian Mobile App
  2. Go to the "More" menu and select "Two Factor Authentication"
  3. Add and verify at least one contact information (email or text)
  4. Click "Get Code" to verify your contact information and enter the code when prompted
  5. Click "Activate Two Factor Authentication"
  6. For the highest level of security,  select "Always On"
  7. Click “Activate Two Factor Authentication”
  8. Login in with 2FA Activated
