How to get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage

The first step to buying a home is establishing what you can afford.

Getting pre-approved for a mortgage will give you peace of mind because you'll know exactly what your maximum purchase price is based on your down payment, income and mortgage payment. It will also establish you as a serious buyer and can save you time.

Once you’re pre-approved, we will hold your mortgage rate for 120 days, giving you time to find the right home for you.

Here is how to get pre-approved for a Cambrian mortgage.

Apply Online

It is easy to apply for a mortgage pre-approval online!

You will need the following information to complete the application:

  • Social Insurance Number
  • If you are not currently a Cambrian member, one other piece of identification such as your driver’s license or passport
  • Employer information, including your gross monthly salary (before deductions)
  • Information about your assets, such as properties you own, your vehicle, RRSPs, and chequing and savings account balances
  • Information about your debt payments and liabilities, which include mortgages, loans, credit cards and rent

Please note that if you are applying jointly, you will need the above information for both individuals.
